At a glance
This program funds only Nuclear Regulatory Commission fees for advanced nuclear energy licensing activities, and any other work described in the application is not counted as part of the project cost. Only U.S. entities may apply, and each topic area must be submitted as a separate application for a unique project. Cost share must be at least 50% based only on NRC fees, and for Topic Area 2 funding is provided only after the NRC has accepted the application for docketing. The announcement also says DOE does not currently expect to require delivery of NRC licensing materials, but if it does, some project data may be marked protected for up to five years.
