The Technical Assistance for Specialty Crops program funds projects that remove, resolve, or mitigate sanitary, phytosanitary, or technical barriers that threaten exports of U.S. specialty crops. U.S. private or government entities with a role or interest in exporting U.S. specialty crops may apply; foreign organizations may only participate as subrecipients or in-kind partners. Awards are limited to $500,000 each, with about 20 awards anticipated and total federal funding anticipated at $9 million. Cost share is required for all applicants except Federal, state, and local government agencies, and other applicants must provide at least 10 percent of the requested funds. Applications may target any foreign market unless it is off limits because of U.S. sanctions or other restrictions.
