This cooperative agreement funds evidence-based prevention, control, education, surveillance, and provider training to reduce the burden of parasitic infections in the United States, focusing on Chagas disease, soil-transmitted helminths, and other parasitic diseases of domestic concern. Eligible applicants include state, local, tribal, and territorial governments; public and private nonprofit and for-profit organizations; higher education institutions; and bona fide agents applying for government entities. Up to 11 awards are expected over a five-year period, with up to 3 for Component A, up to 3 for Component B, and up to 5 for Component C. The total program funding is $23,750,000, with expected funding of $250,000 per year for Component A and $500,000 per year for Components B and C; there is no cost-sharing requirement. Component B is limited to the Southeastern U.S. and excludes areas in Alabama and Mississippi where work was previously completed, and applicants may apply for only one component.
