This program supports innovative prostate cancer research ideas with potential to make an important contribution to the PCRP mission. Eligible applicants include U.S. Department of War organizations, foreign and domestic organizations, and for-profit, nonprofit, public, or private entities; awards are made to organizations, not individuals. It offers about 8 Established Investigator awards at up to $1.7 million total costs each for up to 3 years, and about 10 New Investigator awards at up to $2.1 million total costs each for up to 4 years. Cost sharing is not required, and clinical trials are not allowed. All applications must address one of the listed FY26 PCRP overarching challenges, and the New Investigator category requires at least one collaborator with prostate cancer research experience.

Summary: The fiscal year 2026 (FY26) Prostate Cancer Research Program (PCRP) Idea Development Award (IDA) supports new ideas that represent innovative approaches to prostate cancer research and have the potential to make an important contribution to the PCRP mission. All applications must address one of the FY26 PCRP Overarching Challenges . Distinctive Features: · New Investigator Category: In addition to established investigators, the FY26 PCRP Idea Development Award encourages research ideas from investigators in the early stages of their careers (i.e., within 10 years after completion of their terminal degree).
