This notice funds research to test patient navigation models that divert youth with non-urgent mental health concerns away from the emergency department and connect families to mental health care and other supports. Eligible applicants include a wide range of U.S. organizations, including nonprofits, schools, governments, tribes, for-profit organizations, small businesses, and faith-based or community-based organizations; foreign organizations and foreign components are not allowed. Awards are made as grants, only clinical trials are accepted, the number of awards depends on NIH appropriations and the quality of applications, and budgets are not limited but must fit the project. The project period can be up to 5 years, and no cost sharing is required.
