At a glance
This program funds clinical observational studies in musculoskeletal, rheumatic, and skin diseases, including studies that collect and analyze outcomes, biospecimens, images, and medical history data without changing treatment. It is for eligible U.S. and certain other organizations such as universities, nonprofits, governments, tribal organizations, faith-based groups, for-profits, and foreign organizations are not eligible to apply. Direct costs are limited to $475,000 over four years, with no more than $250,000 in any single year, and the number of awards depends on NIH appropriations and the quality of applications. No cost sharing is required. Only non-clinical-trial applications are allowed, and foreign components are permitted even though non-U.S. applicants and non-U.S. components of U.S. organizations are not eligible.
