EDA’s FY 2023 Disaster Supplemental funds Economic Adjustment Assistance projects that help communities recover from Hurricanes Ian and Fiona and from wildfires, flooding, and other natural disasters in calendar years 2021 and 2022. Eligible applicants include certain districts, Indian Tribes, state and local governments, higher education institutions, and public or private nonprofit organizations working with a political subdivision; individuals and for-profit entities are not eligible. Awards can support planning, workforce, infrastructure, and other non-construction or construction activities, and strategy grants may be used to develop, update, or refine a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. There is no application deadline, applications are accepted until funds are exhausted or the notice is replaced or canceled, and EDA says there is no cost share requirement stated in the excerpt.
What it funds
Official description from grants.gov
Subject to the availability of funds, awards made under this NOFO will help communities and regions devise and implement long-term economic recovery strategies through a variety of non-construction and construction projects, as appropriate, to address economic challenges in areas where a Presidential declaration of a major disaster was issued under the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (42 U.S.C. § 5121 et seq.) (Stafford Act) “as a result of Hurricanes Ian and Fiona, and of wildfires, flooding, and other natural disasters occurring in calendar years 2021 and 2022….” EDA is excited to announce the launch of its new grants management platform: the Economic Development Grants Experience (EDGE). EDGE was developed to streamline the application and grants management process by implementing a single platform with increased transparency, improved user experience, higher data quality, and more efficiency throughout the entire grant lifecycle. Starting April 6, 2023, applications will no longer be accepted on Grants.gov , and will ONLY be accepted through EDGE ( sfgrants.eda.gov ) .
